Is Early Intervention Right for Your Child?

Every child develops at their own pace — but sometimes a parent, a pediatrician, a daycare teacher, or Florida's Early Steps program notices that a child under three could use extra support: with talking or understanding language, with moving and coordination, with playing and connecting with others, with eating, or with managing big feelings.

You don't need a diagnosis to reach out, and you don't need to have all the answers yet. Many of the families we work with are still asking questions — including families of children on the autism spectrum, families referred through Early Steps, and families whose pediatrician simply said, "let's take a closer look." Early intervention meets your child where they are today, not where a label says they should be.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

One Path, Walked Together

From your first message to us through every visit, we’re here to make the journey feel clear, supportive, and centered around your family. Together, we focus on                      understanding your child, celebrating their strengths, and creating meaningful opportunities to grow.

  1. 01

    Referral or Self-Referral

Many families come to us through a pediatrician, daycare, or Florida’s Early Steps program, while others simply reach out on their own. No referral is required to get started—we’re always happy to be your first conversation.

  2. 02

    Evaluation

Our ITDS, SLP, and OT team takes time to get to know your child in familiar, natural settings through everyday moments of play, communication, movement, and connection. We look at the whole picture—what your child enjoys, what comes naturally, and where additional support may be helpful.

  3. 03

A Plan Built Around Your Family

What we learn becomes a personalized plan shaped around your child’s strengths, interests, and unique way of learning. We make sure support fits naturally into your family’s routines, priorities, and everyday life.

  4. 04

    Ongoing Intervention

Support happens where your child is most comfortable and where learning naturally takes place—at home, daycare, the park, in the community, or through Telehealth. Sessions are practical, play-based, and designed to build meaningful skills through everyday experiences.

  5. 05

    Milestones & Transition

We stay connected with you, celebrate progress along the way, and adjust support as your child’s needs and goals evolve. When the time is right, we’ll help you navigate the next step—whether that means continuing support, transitioning to another program, or moving forward independently.

  • Natural Environment

Home, daycare, parks, and community settings. Children learn best in the places they already know — so our team comes to you, not the other way around.

  • Telehealth

Flexible virtual sessions, available at whatever time best fits your family's schedule — no commute required.

Our Approach

A Strong Team. One Connected Approach.

Our team brings together Infant & Toddler Developmental Specialists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Occupational Therapists who work together to support children and families during the early years. By bringing different areas of expertise together, we create a connected approach that recognizes each child’s strengths, supports meaningful development, and fits naturally into everyday family life.

We partner closely with parents and caregivers, because the most meaningful progress happens when everyone is working together. We welcome families from diverse backgrounds and provide thoughtful, culturally responsive support that respects each family’s values, routines, and priorities.

A&E Mind Developmental Services

Before You Reach Out

Does A&E Mind provide early intervention services for autism?

Yes. Many families in our Early Intervention Program have a child on the autism spectrum or are in the process of finding out. Every plan is individualized and strengths-based, whether or not a diagnosis has been made yet.

How is this different from early childhood education or daycare?

Early childhood education focuses on general learning and school readiness. Our program is therapeutic and developmental — delivered one-on-one or in small groups by licensed ITDS, SLP, and OT specialists, built around your specific child.

Can I access this program through Florida's Early Steps program?

Yes — Early Steps is one of the most common paths families take to reach us. If you've already been referred through Early Steps, we can pick up from there; if you haven't, we can help you understand whether it applies to your family.

Do you offer sessions in Spanish?

Yes. Our team works with families in both English and Spanish, and cultural sensitivity is part of how we care for every family we serve.

Every Step Starts with a Conversation

There's no wrong time to reach out — whether you have a diagnosis, a referral, or just a feeling that your child could use a little extra support.
